Awesome with my 4K TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I purchased a new 78" 4K Samsung TV from Best Buy and after hanging it and getting it all setup, I realized my old receiver wasn't going to make the grade. I went to Magnolia inside Best Buy with the intention of buying the same brand receiver I have always used. After talking to a salesman about my best options he suggested the Marantz SR5011 and I sure am glad I listened to him. Setup was a breeze and it makes my in ceiling speakers sound better than ever. The wifi hook up and online music choices are great, the Marantz 2016 app makes it easy to control from my iPhone and iPad too. Finally, the 4K it puts out with Netflix looks amazing on my new TV also. It will be hard for me to not continue using Marantz, I'm sold!!!

easy, functional with great sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At 60 years old I'm not the tech savy person who can comment on all the Marantz features. I can tell you that I've always wanted a Marantz and hearing the splendid sound I now know why. In Magnolia I could hear a distinct and better sound compared to both Denon and Yamaha. Also, it was very easy for me to set up on the net along with Pandora. I accidentally set it up so that all I do is turn it on and all 5 speakers provide great stereo sound, with my Pandora favorites already playing in the background. 5.1 seems robust and well defined. I combined it with Definitive Technologies speakers. Easy, convenient, and its a Marantz with their unique sound.

Excellent sounding A/V Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Marantz A/V Receiver lifts your Home Theater to a new level. The sound is superior to most competing brands. It delivers clean, classic sound. The setup is easy. The internal amp generates more than enough power to drive my B&W CM Series speakers and M&K sub woofer.

Clear sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Marantz & Denon are my two go-to brands for receivers. Over the past 10-15 years I cannot tell the difference between these brands. They seem exactly the same. Remote, layout, menu, audysey, controls, sound, video, etc.. are all the same. Some say Marantz has better internal parts & sounds better then Denon... I own both brands and can't tell the difference in sound or video. To me both these brands are identical. I also just bought the Samsung 8500 4K tv & Samsung UHD 4K blu-ray player. The only reason I bought this receiver is for the 4K & HDR. I'm having some hdmi glitches when I play blu-rays. While in "set-up" the screen will go black and certain info won't be displayed while playing blu-rays only.. Everything works fine if watching cable. I thought maybe a firmware upgrade would solve this problem but it did not. My four year old Denon 3313ci which is almost the same receiver (minus the 4K) does not have these glitches with my new Samsung 4K. For the price this could of had a few more options & maybe a little more power. Other than that I'm happy w/the sound & picture.

Good Receiver unsure about the Software situation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was a breeze with the Mic system has plenty of inputs and the ARC output allows all the sources to come through one input. So far the power seems to be good will definitely buy new speakers. Haven't hooked up to any wifi for updates cause of the issues the techs said could arise not sure how I feel about that. I will hook up to wifi and do and update before my geek squad protection expires because the techs said that's the only way if something goes wrong that the issue will be covered. Marantz wont cover what appears to be a software problem. You would think for the price you pay that shouldn't be a problem.

Sound is awsome setup is challenging
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a HK owner for over twenty years wanted a high end receiver this unit was recommended to me verses another HK. Awesome sound features are a plus with all the different options. Set up is challenging to a beginner. Could explain the terms in more detail and how they affect the sound. Don’t like the small display window but getting use to it. There is a delay when it changes from on screen back to cable/ sat setting. Also does not display options when you go from the Smart TV format or the TV when using built in apps such as Net Flicks TV tuner Etc or maybe I haven’t figured how to make that adjustment.

Marantz 5011
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking at the 6011 originally - but then this went on sale. The fantastic price is what tipped the scale for me to purchase it. Set up was a breeze, except for wireless airplay, with my iPad, which I haven't figured out yet. I am able to wire it to the receiver and it works fine and I charge my iPad as well. Sound wise I usually prefer Yamaha receivers but after using/listening to the Marantz I am very pleased with this receiver.
