A Fresh Take on a Classic Franchise
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There was a lot of hype around this game, and understandably so. It was Link in an open world! With endless possibilities. It's definitely a great game. But I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I think one of the biggest criticisms I have for the game is the weapons breaking. Some like that mechanic, but to me it was lackluster. What's more, the world was big but it felt empty, exploring didn't produce the type of Whoa! moments you'd expect. If you're a fan, definitely give it a try but it's definitely different

The best Zelda game I’ve played
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down, this is the best Zelda game I have ever played, and up there on my favorite game ever. The best way to describe it is a mix between a classic Zelda game and Skyrim. The open world design and ability to explore at your own free will leads to an immense amount of gameplay if you choose to do so. I have already put over 60 hours into the game, yet there is so much of the main storyline left to do and so much to explore. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested.

Great value - endless hours of entertainment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Huge. Fun. Those are the first things that come to mind. I can see myself spending at least 200-300 hours before coming close to “finishing” this game. For example, you can spend 2 hours fishing. And another hour cooking up recipes from what you fished. And did nothing to “progress” on the game. You can go hunting for hours, or mining for hours. You can attempt to tame horses for hours, and suddenly you’ve spent 20-30 hours on the game and haven’t moved and inch forward. There are hundreds of side quests, main quests, and you don’t even have to do any of them to have fun exploring this vast world. This is one thing that can be a downside to some people. There is no obvious order of how you should proceed with the game. Your next main quest can take you to an area where monsters kill you with a single blow. Making it frustrating to know what to do next. Fortunately we have the internet and you can find hundreds of walk through and advise if you get stuck. All in all one of the best games I’ve ever played.

Great version for a great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everyone who owns a Switch most likely owns a copy of Breath of the Wild, so I'll just talk about the Explorer's Edition content. The game still comes just like the regular version of the game, they didn't add anything to the case. They did remove the UPC and replaced it with a NFR tag. The outer box is pretty sturdy, although I did have to look through quite a few to find one that wasn't semi-crushed nor cut by an employee with a wayward knife slice while opening the box the games came in. The artbook is beautiful. It's nice, glossy pages filled with information about the world, weapons, flora, fauna and enemies. It's not really a walkthrough, it is basically just a visitor's guide to Hyrule. The map is also pretty nice, it unfolds to a nice size and is perfect for framing. For the same price as the regular version, this is the version to get. No reason to not buy this version since it costs the same.

Maybe the Only Game You Need for a While
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The world in The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild is a huge departure from previous games. It is completely open to you from the beginning, and you have all the tools you need after the first couple of hours. This is not a story heavy game, but it rewards experimentation and exploration. There are so many places to see, secrets to find, and people to help. I find myself just wandering around and earning new hearts by defeating puzzles in shrines scattered across the huge map. This game is huge. It looks great too. I have not hooked it up to the TV yet, but the visuals are very strong on the Switch. This is a full Zelda game that you can take on the go. I think BOTW gives you a great value with good production values and a really fun game. If you own a Switch, this is the first game you should buy, and it could be the only game you need for a while.

Quite possibly the Greatest game ever created!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is simply amazing! Its an absolute marvel in just about every way imaginable! From gameplay and graphics to story and overall setting, its simply ridiculous what Nintendo has achieved here. I played this on Wii U then bought my switch several months later to play this game again. I must say the content is the same in both but the Switch version runs much much better and seems to have more and better effects such as lighting and weather. I was surprised by how new my playthrough on the Switch version felt too. Its a testament to the design of this game that it still felt new and intriguing after after over 100 hours with the version on the previous console. I did the quests in a different manner so it felt new and exciting all over again. This game is simply a must own!

An addicting if sometimes frustrating wonder
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is only my second Zelda game (Windwaker was my first) and I am really loving the wide open experience. The game is very coy, divulging nothing to you, you must discover everything. However that makes the game more additive because there is just enough to keep you going. You always want to see what is just over the mountain or around the next bend. The graphics are beautiful but the limited draw distance can make advance tactics a chore. Definitely worth the money and play it on a pro controller if you can. The rain can make climbing even the smallest thing frustrating, these kinds of artificial limitations begin to pile up and annoy. Overall a tremendous game carving out it's own niche in the open world exploration genre with a uniquely Nintendo style.

Immersive experience that keeps you hanging on
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly haven't played a Legend of Zelda game since I was a kid and played on the NES. Well, this game has really changed! The graphics are fantastic and the music is not only cool but it clues you in that you are getting warmer aka closer to where you need to be. Once you get the hang of how things work for Link then his adventure really gains meaning and you don't feel like you are aimlessly wondering around this open world. If you get stuck then a fix is a Google search or YouTube video away so frustration is quickly resolved. This is a very entertaining game that even my one year old enjoys watching. Give this game a try and I am sure you won't regret it!

Q: QuestionDoes anyone know why the gamer club isn't working for explorer edition?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I will be calling the 800 number. I took a snapshot of the page showing where it says that 20% if you have GCU. It did show the discounted price until it became available at midnight. I really like Best Buy and I do expect they will resolve this. It was frustrating that store pickup was not an option.

Q: QuestionDoes the Gamers Club unlocked discount not apply to this item?
Asked by BriWei.
- A:Answer Currently, it doesn't look like the discount applies. According to the Benefits include: portion of their FAQ https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gamers-club/gamers-club-unlocked-faqs/pcmcat341800050017.c?id=pcmcat341800050017, the Thanksgiving ad isn't included in the deal. It would be nice if that wasn't the case in this instance as the game is full price and not on sale. However, they can exclude it from the Gamer's Club Unlocked discount since it was in the Black Friday ad. That being said, they may allow for the discount at a later time.

Q: QuestionWell, this really is lame. The Gamer's Club discount is back now on these. So, what does that mean for those that bought these? Can we go to the store and get $12 back or return and just buy it again?
Asked by Skorp.
- A:Answer Just return it and re-purchase it. If gamer’s club doesn’t show up, staff can manually override it. That’s what they did for me.

Q: QuestionSo will this be available for online purchase on the 23rd? Or will it only be available in stores?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer I'm guessing it will go live online sometime on the 23rd or else why would it be on the website; no pre-orders. I'm also assuming that gamers club unlocked discount will apply since its regular priced and shows the gcu price as well.
